HISTORY:
My name is Brett "Nortonkicker" Causey. I'm
just another guy that loves bikes, riding, camping and the brotherhood of the biker community. My nickname is Nortonkicker, because
that's what I ride. I own an original Norton Commando and a custom Norton chopper/bobber.
After hurricaine Katrina hit New Orleans, all of the rallies in Louisiana and Southeast Texas were cancelled.
A few phone calls, lots of work, and 7 weeks later, we held our first bike rally on Veteran's Weekend 2005. Around
500 people attended. The next rally was a major rain-out. Then we held Summerfest 2006 / 2007 / 2008, which
all went very well. Great people, bands, vendors, food and drinks. The laid back atmosphere and older crowds make for
an enjoyable weekend at Hog Haven. Come check us out if you can. You won't regret it.
A lot has changed in the 5 years since Hog Haven held it's first event. I "finally" got married to the greatest
woman I heve ever met. A lot of you know Vanessa. She has worked tirelessly at the last 3 Hog Haven events. She never complains
about the heat, the camping, or the clean-up afterwards. She can handle an all day trip on my hard-tail and keep on smiling. I
have truly been blessed to find such a woman.
My daughter has come to live with us,
which gave me the "family life" I thought I'd never have. With the tight economy and significant governmental changes,
I have reflected on what is important in my life. Family, friends, and biking are what I enjoy and I plan on enjoying
these things a lot more in the years to come.
